The Music Ministry here at Providence Baptist seeks to provide musical experiences and worship training to people of all ages. Our graded choir program begins with children who are in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It continues by offering musical training and worship opportunities to even the oldest of senior adults.
God told us through the Scriptures to “Speak to one another with Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:19-20 NIV) It is our goal to put that Scripture into practice through a variety of music organizations, as well as styles of music. Consider how you might become involved in this vital ministry of our church.

Music Organizations
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is the flagship of our music ministry here. The choir provides worship leadership for both the 9:00 a.m. worship service each Sunday. Membership is open to high school students and up. We sing a variety of literature in many styles. Rehearsals for this choir are on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary from 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. The choir presents at least two major programs a year, which includes the annual Living-Singing Christmas Tree program, that is known throughout Gloucester County as one of the premiere seasonal concerts each Christmas.
Worship Team
The Worship Team is made up of vocalists and instrumentalists from our congregation that enjoy proclaiming the "good news" of Jesus love through song. The Worship Team leads in worship in the 9:00 a.m. worship service, and the music is upbeat and celebratory. We encourage young people, high school and college age to be involved in the Worship Team.. The Worship Team rehearses weekly on Thursday evenings, from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Children's Choir
The Children's Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings, from 5:45-6:30 p.m. Any child from Kindergarten up to grade 5 can participate in the Children's Choir. This choir sings at least once a quarter, and for special holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. The sound of children's voices always brings a smile to the face of those who hear them. We welcome your child to be a part of this ministry!
WOW Club
The WOW Club is for youth singers from grades 6-12, and rehearses Wednesday evenings from 5:45-6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The The WOW Club provides music in our worship services quarterly, and will be participating in the church-wide mission project in the summer of 2010. We sing energetic praise music unto our Lord! All youth are invited and encouraged to be a part.
